Ebun Francis || A Federal High Court in Abuja has struck out a suit filed by a former first lady, Mrs. Patience Jonathan against the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Justice John Tsoho in striking out the fundamental rights enforcement held that contrary to Mrs. Jonathan’s claim of indiscriminate harassment and freezing of her accounts without invitation, the steps taken by the EFCC were upon reasonable suspicion.
Justice Tsoho also ruled that the former first lady did not tender any verifiable evidence to show how her rights to dignity were violated.
The presiding finally held that the lawyer to Mrs. Jonathan failed to adduce cogent evidence showing how her residence was raided by the anti-graft agency.
