The pilgrimage to London by politicians to consult with Nyesom Wike continued on Thursday as former President Olusegun Obasanjo, Peter Obi, presidential candidate of Labour Party (LP), and others met with the Rivers State governor.
The meeting was also attended by other allies of Wike – Samuel Ortom, governor of Benue, Seyi Makinde of Oyo, Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia, and Donald Duke, former governor of Cross Rivers.
Although the outcome of the meeting is yet to be made public, it may not be unconnected with permutations over the 2023 presidential election.
Thursday’s meeting is coming on the heels of Monday’s meeting between Wike’s camp and associates of Bola Tinubu, presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The presidential candidate of the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar is reportedly in London for a meeting with the Rivers state strongman.
