The Nigeria Police on Monday arraigned the senator representing Adamawa north, Elisha Abboh for allegedly assaulting a woman at a sex toy shop in Abuja in May this year.
The first time lawmaker was arriagned at a magistrate court in Zuba.
Abbo was arrested on Thursday and was granted administrative bail after spending a night in custody for repeatedly slapping a woman subsequently identified as Briba at an adult sex toy shop in Abuja over a disagreement.
Following the release of the incident which was captured by the in-house CCTV, Abboh has come under severe criticism from Nigerians and has since asked Nigerians for forgiveness over the incident at the shop.
He said last wek,“I personally apologize to Bibra and her family for my action towards her, which has brought immense discomfort in our body polity.”
“I have never been known or associated with such actions in the past.”
