Police arrest six suspects over the killing of Kogi PDP woman leader

Ebun Francis| The Kogi state police command on Monday confirmed the arrest of six suspects over the murder of Mrs. Achejuh Abuh, the Woman Leader of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the Wada/Aro campaign council in the state.

Mrs. Abuh was burnt alive in her home by suspected political thugs after the recent governorship election in the state.

Kogi state command police public relations officer, DSP William Ayah, who made the disclosure, said the six suspects were arrested on Friday in Ochadamu while carrying out a robbery operation.

Ayah revealed that during interrogation, it was discovered that one of the suspects was a principal actor in the killing of the women leader.

He further stated that the suspects will be interrogated to ascertain the level of their involvement in the crime and that the outcome of the investigation will be made public.

The arrest of the suspects is coming barely 24 hours after President Muhammadu Buhari ordered security agencies to fish out the perpetrators of the dastard act.
