Rivers Assembly gives Fubara 48 hours to present 2025 budget

Our reporter/ The Rivers State House of Assembly on Monday gave Governor Sim Fubara 48 hours to present the 2025 budget to the lawmakers.

The lawmakers said this during plenary in its first sitting following the Supreme Court judgment last week.

There is a massive security presence at the Rivers House of Assembly Quarters in Port Harcourt where the lawmakers are currently sitting.

The Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly Martin Amaewhule earlier on Monday released the notice of the sitting for lawmakers.

As of the time of filling this report, there are multiple squads of policemen and SSS operatives on the ground at the Assembly Quarters in Port Harcourt.

The development comes days after the Supreme Court ordered Amaewhule and other lawmakers to resume sitting following months of a protracted battle for the soul of the Assembly.
