By our reporter| Bandits on Wednesday morning attacked a military base in the Zazzaga community, Munya Local Government Area of Niger State.
Eyewitnesses said the gunmen numbering about one hundred, came riding on motorcycles as they stormed the area, shooting sporadically at the camp.
One civilian, identified as Joseph Auta was believed killed and a military vehicle was also stolen during the attack, the bandits also recorded heavy casualties but that cannot be independently confirmed.
Although, no Soldier was killed in the latest attack, a soldier said to be the RSM of the camp, has been declared missing.
Although the soldiers were able to repel the attack, their property was also burned down.
“Some of their men were killed by the military, but they packed them and left them in one of the military vehicles,” a youth leader in the area, Usman Babangida told Channels Television.
The latest attack on the military comes barely two weeks after bandits killed five soldiers, a personnel of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, and a civilian in an attacked In a military base located at Bassa community in Shiroro local government area of the state.
