Tinubu camp rattled by UBerFacts publication of details of $460,0000 drug money forfeiture to US govt

Our reporter/ The UBerFacts, a reliable facts-promoting platform publication of Bola Tinubu’s drug case that led to his forfeiture of $460,000 ill-gotten gains from cocaine deals to US government in 1993 has rattled the camp of the former Lagos State governor who was declared winner of the February 25 presidential election by INEC.

The platform published the full details of the court proceedings early on Monday and by afternoon it has jumped up to the number one Twitter trend.

“In 1993, Bola Ahmed Tinubu surrendered $460,000 to the US government after a Chicago court found the income came from heroin trafficking,” UberFacts shared with its 13.5 million global audience on Monday.

The rattled members of the Tinubu campaign team have not yet responded to the publication but sources close to them told some reporters to expect some form of reactions in the coming hours.

The certified true copies of Tinubu’s drug money forfeiture has been public domain, but the APC flag bearer avoided discussing the topic during the campaign.

He also denied having any criminal record when he registered his presidential ambition with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in 2022.

During the campaign, his campaign spokesman, Festus Keyamo while speaking with with Channels Television claimed the money forfeited by Tinubu to the United States government was for tax purposes.

On Monday, Bayo Onanuga, another spokesman for the Tinubu campaign described the publication of the document as nonsense.

“Nonsense. That is my reaction,” he told anonline publicationon Monday.

“They keep recycling this matter. Who is Uber! Who is Uber! Please don’t spoil my day.”
