Tinubu receives Buhari’s body in Katsina airport

The plane conveying the remains of former President Muhammadu Buhari has arrived in Katsina state
The presidential aircraft landed at the Umaru Musa Yar’Adua International Airport around 1:53 pm on Tuesday.

Vice-President Kashim Shettima accompanied the body from London to the Katsina airport.

President Bola Tinubu was on ground to receive Buhari’s body, alongside governors and top government officials.

Buhari’s body will be taken from the Katsina airport to Daura, his hometown, where he will be buried.

Buhari died on Sunday in a clinic in London, United Kingdom (UK), after a prolonged illness.

He served as Nigeria’s military head of state from 1983 to 1985 and as a democratically elected president from 2015 to 2023.

The body of the former president was initially scheduled to arrive in Nigeria on Monday but it was postponed to Tuesday.
