By our reporter| A US-based Nigerian, Prince Denis Abuda who was abducted over the weekend in Edo state by unknown gunmen was on Wednesday found dead, five days after his kidnap.
The decomposing body of Abuda who hails from Fugar, Etsako central local area of the state, and was the President America-Fugar Foundation, was found along the Benin-Auchi bypass.
According to family members, he came home for the holidays and was traveling back through Benin to Lagos last Saturday, to board a flight back to the USA on Sunday, when he was abducted with three others.
The family members who got to know about his ordeal on Sunday after waiting endlessly for his arrival in Lagos and subsequently negotiated with the kidnappers demanded N10 million ransom.
A negotiated amount was reached and later paid, according to family sources.
However, after the ransom was paid only three of those abducted were released while Abuda for some strange reason was killed by the kidnappers.
According to the family, one of the freed victims said Abuda Abuda fell down as they walked away from the bush and was shot by the kidnappers.
Edo state police command has not reacted to the development as at the time of filing this report.
