We may have killed Fitdasi, Shekau’s wife- Air Force

Chidi Samuel || Fitdasi Shekau, the wife Abubakar Shekau the leader of the Boko Haram terror group may have been killed in an air strike around Durwawa settlement on the outskirts of Urga near Konduga in Bornu State, according to Nigeria Air Force.

The director of public relation and information at the air force headquarters, Olatokunbo Adesanya in a statement on Wednesday said that human intelligence suggests that wife of the insurgent leader was killed while representing her husband in a coordinating meeting with other insurgents on October 19.

According to Adesanya, “Battle Damage Assessment had indeed revealed that the aerial attack set off a fire, causing damage to the insurgents’ structures within the settlement.”

“The airstrike also succeeded in neutralising most of the insurgents with a few of them fleeing the location.”

Adesanya said that efforts are being intensified to confirm the killing of Fitdasi and other insurgents.

The will be the first time that military authorities will publicly claim to have killed Shekau’s wife.
