The much awaited emergency meeting called by the National Judicial Council (NJC) in Nigeria, to deliberate on the arrest of some judges by security operatives over the weekend has ended without any resolution for the second day running. The meeting earlier scheduled for Monday, commenced on Tuesday at the Federal capital territory, Abuja. When The meeting ended without a position on Tuesday, it was rescheduled to continue on Wednesday. However, after deliberating for hours again on Wednesday, members were believed to have been unable to arrive at a consensus, according to sources familiar with the case. The meeting will reconvene again Thursday morning.
IT will be recalled that seven Judges, including two from the supreme court were arrested over the weekend across the country by the DSS, in what the agency called a string operation. A move that have generated immense mixed reactions in the country.
