21 Killed in Fresh Attacks in Southern Kaduna

At least 21 people have been killed in fresh attacks in four communities in Kaura and Jama’a local government areas of Kaduna state. The area has been a hotbed of violence of recent that has lead to loss of lives and the imposition of a state of emergency by Kaduna state government.

Details of the attacks are still sketchy but emerging reports suggests that several houses were also reportedly burnt in the attacks which happened between Sunday and Monday.

The affected communities included Ashim, Nissi and Zilan in Atakad District, Kaura Local Government as well as Bakin Kogi, Goska District of Jama’a Local Government Area.

Mr. Enock Andong, President of Atakad Community Development Association, who confirmed the attacks in Ashim, Nissi and Zilan communities, said 15 people were killed and at least, 55 houses burnt.

All efforts to contain the violence in the region have not yielded the desired results so far.

Kaduna state Government has not commented on the latest attack.
