Breaking…Over 30 football viewers killed in Calabar

Ebun Francis || Tragedy struck Thursday evening in Calabar, Cross River State, South-South Nigeria as more than 30 football fans are believed electrocuted at a football viewing centre by a high-tension cable that reportedly fell on them.

The football fans are said to have assembled at the centre to watch a UEFA Europa League quarter-final match between Manchester United and Anderlecht on satellite television.

According to a report monitored on Channels Television, a live electricity cable broke from its mooring and fell on the viewers.

The Cross River State Government and the State Police Command are yet to comment on the incident.
