A few days ago, the governor commissioned some major roads in Uyo metropolis. The roads include the Youth Avenue at Mbiabong Etoi, the 1.4 kilometer Concrete Hotel Road and the 1.2-kilometer Radio Nigeria, Atlantic FM access roads at Nsukara Offot.

At the event, the Governor who flagged off the construction of the third ring road, eulogizes the state commissioner for works Mr. Ephraim Inyang Eyen for his commitment and steadfastness to duty urging him to continue in the same spirit to ensure the success of his administration.

In preparation for today’s event, the State Commissioner for Works; Mr Ephraim Inyang-Eyen who yesterday led a team of engineers from his Ministry and other stakeholders around the project’s site to confirm their state of readiness noted that the new roads were another practical demonstration of Governor Emmanuel administration’s determination and capacity to fulfill its promises to the people of the State.

According to him, “We are in a hurry to transform Akwa Ibom. By the time we reel out the number of the things Governor Udom Emmanuel has done within the three years of his administration, the people of Akwa Ibom will redouble their support for the Governor.

However, the commissioner said the state is still appealing to the Federal Government to pay Akwa Ibom State Government for all the Trunk A roads the State has done as the Governor is determined and resolute to do more for the people of Akwa Ibom.

On why he spends on time on projects sites than his office, the commissioner said,” You cannot succeed at the Ministry of Works if you sit in the office and expect reports from supposed trusted staff. That’s why you see me every time on the road to see things for ourselves”.

Meanwhile, about 28 of such roads in Uyo metropolis alone are ready for inauguration as part of the activities to celebrate the 3rd Anniversary of Mr. Udom Emmanuel as Governor of Akwa Ibom State.
