Gov. Emmanuel to build new Police Station in Uyo.

Tony Okoh || Worried about the Pitiable state of the C Division Nigeria Police force Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, Governor Udom Emmanuel has directed the building of a befitting Police Station in the Area.

The Governor who was represented by the State Commissioner for Works, Mr. Ephraim Inyang-Eyen during an on the spot assessment of the flood-prone areas of the Police Station assured the police commissioner of immediate intervention to stop further damages done on the large expanse of land and the buildings in the division from perennial rain falls.

According to the Commissioner, “I came with my engineers to see what can be done immediately to solve the problem of flood in and around the Police Division. The area, including the entire division, is always over flooded during the rainy season, and only God Knows what will be the fate of those in detention here because I heard that even the cells are submerged by flood when it rains. We are intervening to give them a befitting police station and ensure adequate channeling of the flood to a natural outlet.

The Commissioner who also stopped over at the Police mobile force base Ukana in Essien Udim Local Government Area assured the Police Authorities of the State Government support to complete the ongoing worship auditorium in the premises which have been abandoned for over four years.

He directed Engineers of the Ministry to immediately mobilize to site to ensure completion of the church project.

Works Commissioner, Inyang eyen with CP Adeyemi Ogunjemilusi

The Commissioner hailed the State Police Commissioner CP ADEYEMI SAMUEL OGUNJEMILUSI  for his interest in ensuring the welfare of the officers and men of the force against personal aggrandizement.

According to him, “When I visited the Police Commissioner, he sounded passionate about his determination to enhance the welfare of his men by providing conducive environment for them  to operate, he is a hardworking officer who has shown that he is here in the state to work in tandem with Governor Emmanuel to ensure adequate security, peace, and progress of the State.

On his own, the State Police Commissioner, CP ADEYEMI SAMUEL OGUNJEMILUSI,  expressed deep gratitude to Governor Emmanuel for his quick intervention to save the C. division from impending flood disaster and assured him of their determination to redouble their efforts in securing the State.

He also described the intervention of the State Government on the completion of the worship auditorium in Ukana, Essien Udim as divine, stressing that the abandoned structure was put together from little contributions by the officers and men of the force to have a place of worship within their base.
