Security agents block Saraki’s convoy

A detachment of police officers on Tuesday morning blocked the convoy of the President of the Senate, Bukola Saraki at Lake Chad Junction, Maitama, Abuja.

But reacting to the development, the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) denied any knowledge about of siege laid on the residence of the President of the Senate, Bukola Saraki by security agencies.

NPF spokesman, DCP Jimoh Moshood said he is not aware of the development.

“I am not aware. You are just informing me,” Jimoh told newsmen.

He, however, promised to investigate the veracity of the report.

The development may not be unconnected with the face-off between the police and the Senate president over his alleged connection with Offa robbers.

The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) on Monday sent an invitation letter to Saraki asking him to appear before investigators in Abuja on July 24 but in his response, Saraki described the move as an after thought designed to intimidate over his plans to decamp from the ruling party, APC.
