Nigeria confirms 187 new COVID-19 cases

Chidi Samuel|Nigeria on Tuesday confirmed 187 new cases of the coronavirus.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control which made the disclosure via its verified Twitter handle, said the new infections were recorded in 12 states and the FCT.

According to the health agency, Lagos recorded 74 new cases, followed by Plateau -25, Rivers –25, Gombe and FCT –19.

Other states with new infections include, Osun –10, Kaduna –5, Borno –3, Ogun and Katsina –2, while Nasarawa, Bayelsa and Edo recorded 1 case each.

The NCDC further noted that the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the country now stands at 58,647 with 49,937 recoveries and 1,111 deaths.
