A marketing employee of Globus bank in Ikorodu, Lagos, Amarachi Ugochukwu, has committed suicide due to what she termed, “economic hardship”.

The 32-year-old lady was said to have ingested a poisonous substance within the bank premises on Monday.

According to various social media reports, Ugochukwu made her way into the bank’s restroom around 1 pm, wherein she drank from a bottle of sniper and left a suicide note.

In the note, Ugochukwu said she decided to end it all because “nothing is working in my life”.

The bank staff, in the note, blamed the “economic hardship of the country”, adding that she could “no longer bear the pain”.

“Nothing is working in my life. My figures are low. My brain is clogged up. The economy is getting harder,” Ugochukwu wrote.

“My decisions are wrong. My mind is messed up. The future doesn’t seem bright at all. I see extreme hardship. I can’t bear the pain anymore.

“I am sorry mum, I am sorry dad, I am sorry Nene, Okwe, Toto, Nazor, Chuchu, Ifunanya. Dear Lord, have mercy on me!”

It was gathered the bank’s manager had reported the matter to the police.
