Abductors of Germans demand N60m ransom

Ebun Francis || The gunmen who abducted two German archaeologists, Peter Breunig and Johannes Buringer, on Wednesday at Jenjela village in Kagarko LGA, of Kaduna State, have demanded N60 million naira ransom, according to sources familiar with the case.

Sources in Kaduna said that the gunmen are demanding N60m as a condition for the release of their victims.

According to one of the sources, “The kidnappers contacted the site managers by telephone on Thursday and asked for N60 million. They warned him not to involve the police or any security operatives.”

The two Germans were abducted on Wednesday while working at an excavation site.

Acting President Yemi Osinbajo was on Thursday briefed by the Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, over the abductions.
