A’Ibom 2023: Ide Owodiong Submits Guber form, Charges Delegates to Vote Competence, Integrity

Chidi Tony| A 2023 governorship hopeful on the platform of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Akwa Ibom State, Obong Ide Owodiong-Idemeko last weekend visited PDP National Secretariat, Wadata Plaza, Wuse Zone 5 Abuja where he submitted his governorship form.
Ide was received by Alhaji Ado Sani, Assistant Director Contact and Mobilization, and Yerima Hussaini Chief Security Officer, PDP who reviewed and acknowledged the completeness of Gubernatorial Nomination Form and related documents submitted to the National Secretariat.
Speaking to Newsmen after the brief ceremony, Ide Owodiong called on Akwa Ibom delegates to remember that the destiny and the collective good of the over seven million Akwa Ibom people rest squarely on their shoulders.
According to him, “Your individual and collective decision on May 21st, 2022 scheduled for our party guber primaries will either skyrocket our development and progress to an enviable level or stagnate and perhaps deteriorate our appreciable progress in these past years”.
He highlighted, “I am appealing to your conscience to see through my sincerity of purpose in pursuit of the office of the Governor of Akwa Ibom State. I am one Aspirant who is fully loaded intellectually, and with strong will power to make very courageous changes in our polity for the overall benefit of Akwa Ibom State and her people.
Ide who told the delegates that his candid prayers remains that competence, integrity, and content remain their yardstick as they vote on May 21st, 2022 at PDP primaries stressed that It is better to have a man of integrity, fully prepared to administer the state and ensure equitable distribution and application of their common patrimony than one who mortgages their conscience with funds already amassed from public office now and abandon them for the next four years.
He further stated, “ My dear delegates, please go through my blueprint which is designed to take our dear state to the next level for more information. Suffice to say at this juncture that with my ascension to power as your servant leader, you are automatic partners in the administration of our state. Your candid opinion through periodic meetings will be sorted by my administration. You will also be deeply involved in the administration of our dear state. Gone are the days you are only remembered during elections. My administration will carry you along in all our undertakings and ensure that you are all adequately catered for in appreciation of your sacrifice to the upliftment and advancement of our dear party and the state in general”.
Speaking on some of his planned programmes, the prominent aspirant said, “So many of my priority programmes are already in the media space such as my resolve to grant autonomy to the judiciary, legislature, and local government councils for transparency and accountability in governance. My resolve to embark on massive Agricultural development for food sufficiency, the desire to enhance our educational system and health care services and make them affordable for all.
“My zeal to embark on real empowerment which will produce bread winners who will, in turn, develop more family members. My determination to float additional 9 development or growth centers from the other 9 federal constituencies outside the Uyo federal constituency. Our resolve to harness our potentials both human and material resources to make Akwa Ibom self-sufficient and the choice destination for all Nigerians and foreign visitors.
“Tourism sector will also be fully harnessed while more industries will be set up in various communities depending on resources they have comparative advantage”.
Ide also used the occasion to recount his various assistance, commitments, and support to the party and humanity through his foundation and opined that his desire to serve as governor remains selfless and dedication to the upliftment of the state unparalleled.
