By our reporter/ The Economics and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has placed Anambra state governor, Willy Obiano on it’s watch list.
The anti-graft agency has asked Nigerian Immigration Service to inform it whenever Obiano is travelling abroad.
Obiano, who is billed to hand over power to Professor Charles Soludo in March, is currently in the US.
In the letter to Immigration, the commission said it should be informed whenever the governor is travelling out of the country through any of the international airports, as well as other points of entry and exit.
It is not clear why the anti-graft agency placed the governor on watch list.
Spokesman of the EFCC, Wilson Uwujaren, is yet to comment on the letter the commission wrote to Immigration over Obiano.
But Anambra state commissioner for information and public enlightenment, Mr.C.Don Adinuba, said nobody placed the governor on travel watchlist.
According to him, it is ridiculous for such to happen.
” It is crazy for anybody to say the governor is placed on travel watchlist , when he is already out of the country. Any person who originated the story was out to serve mischievous intention,” he said
