Another Chibok girl Salomi Pagu rescued by Army

Ebun Francis || One of the abducted Chibok school girls, identified as Salomi Pagu has been rescued by the Nigeria Army.

The deputy director of army public relations, Onyema Nwachukwu disclosed this in a statement on Thursday.

According to the statement, Pogu alongside a teenager identified as Jamila Adams and a child were rescued at Pulka, a town in Borno state.

The statement read, “Troops of Operation Lafiya Dole deployed in Pulka today rescued one of the Chibok girls abducted by Boko Haram terrorists earlier in 2014.”

“So far, preliminary investigations reveal that the young girl identified as Salomi Pagu is the same as the Chibok girl published on serial 86 of the online list of abducted Chibok girls.

“Currently, the girl who was intercepted in the company of another young girl, Jamila Adams about 14 years old with a child are in the safe custody of troops and receiving medical attention.”

Boko Haram insurgents had abducted 276 female students from Government Secondary School, Chibok, in April 2014.

163 of the abducted girls has so far regained their freedom.
