APC reschedules Ekiti governorship primary election

The All Progressives Congress (APC) on Thursday announced the rescheduling of Ekiti state governorship primary election.

The primaries which was abandoned last Saturday following outbreak of violence orchestrated by suspected political thugs will now take place this Saturday.

Bolaji Abdullahi, spokesman of the APC, in a statement, said the new date was fixed after consultation between the party’s national working committee (NWC), aspirants and stakeholders.

The statement read, “The All Progressives Congress (APC) has rescheduled the Ekiti governorship primary election for Saturday, May 12, 2018. Time: 8 am prompt.”

“This followed consultation between the APC national working Committee (NWC), aspirants and other stakeholders.”

The minister of mines and steel development; Kayode Fayemi, Babafemi Ojodu and Segun Oni, are among those seeking to fly the party’s flag at the governorship election scheduled for July 16.
