APGA Suspends its National Chairman, Victor Oye

The leadership crisis that has bedevilled theAll Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, a political party with large following in South East, Nigeria resurfaced Thursday with the announcement of the suspension of its National Chairman, Mr. Victor Oye.Oye was suspended with two other national officers for alleged acts of gross misconduct.

According to the Deputy National Secretary of the party, Mr Jerry Obasi, decision to suspend the chairman was taken by the National Working Committee of the party which met in Abuja on Thursday.Mr Obasi explained that the suspension was necessary in order to save the party from impending destruction.

The NWC, told newsmen that the suspension of the national Chairman was in line with the provisions of the party’s constitution.

The Committee accused the suspended chairman and some other executive members of “immense constitutional breaches and inordinate practices’’.

The NWC therefore took the decision inorder to reposition APGA and restore it to greatness, given the circumstances surrounding the party under the leadership of the suspended chairman.

Among those also suspended by the NWC include: the deputy national chairman (North), Alh. Abubakar Adamu and deputy national chairman (South), Chief Uchenna Okogbuo.

The former Chairman, Mr Victor Oye was yet to respond to his Suspension from the Party as at the time of filling this report.
