Apostle Johnson Suileman, the Pastor and General Overseer of Omega Fire Ministries, located in Benin, Edo State, was on Monday night released by the Department of State Services after hours of interrogation over comments he made that Christians should defend themselves against attacks by Fulani herdsmen.
Apostle Suileman was invited to the DSS head office in Abuja for questioning after the botched attempt last Wednesday by the agency to arrest him in Ekiti State while attending a two day crusade.
The clergy man arrived at the office of the agency at 7:45 pm accompanied by two governors, who pleaded not to be named.
His Communications Adviser, Phrank Shaibu, confirmed his release to Journalists on Monday night, but promised to give the details later.
According to Shaibu, “Apostle Suleman has been allowed to go. The DSS exhibited high level of maturity, competence and professionalism.”
