As the Senate Ad Hoc Committee on Mounting Humanitarian Crisis in the North East began its hearing on Thursday, the suspended Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Mr. Babachir Lawal, failed to appear.
The Committee sent a letter of invitation to Lawal on Wednesday to answer certain questions pertaining to the ongoing investigation into the alleged mismanagement of funds meant for the rehabilitation of the northeast zone.
The Committee is considering declaring a “no show” and to proceed with preparing a final report into the investigation despite Lawal’s absence.
