Laoye Sesan || The Igbos deserves their rightful place in Nigeria and they are entitled to what other ethnic groups in the country are entitled to, Prophet Solomon Olakunmi Ajao has said.
The Prophet also said the agitations in the Easter part of the country was not natural, it has a spiritual connotation which must be addressed, saying without putting things right the solution would not be solved.
Prophet Ajao who is the founder of the Christ Apostolic Church(CAC) Warrior for Christ Mission, Railway Junction Fagba, Agege, Lagos said that Nigerians would not know peace if all tribes and nationalities in the country are not treated equally.
According to the prophet, what the country is experiencing now is the marginalization of some sections of the country especially people in the South East.
He warned Nigerians and the leaders to be very careful as not to plunge the country into war because all the actions taken so far are not the will of God because God himself hates injustice which has pervaded the entire nation.
Ajoa argued that the Igbos especially the people behind the Indigenous People of Biafra(IPOB) were not just agitating, they are venting their anger on Nigeria and some cabal in the country, whom they believed have been standing on the wheel of their progress.
He warned that Nigerian leaders should not treat the agitation as minor, it could have far-reaching consequences if care was not taken because ‘’the more they take strong action, the more things would get worse’’
The Military operations in the South East according to him was not the best way to solve the problem, stating that the tiger (Bokoharam) roaring in the North started this way, from a minor confrontation between the Police and the Islamic group to what the country has not recovered from.
He said that in Nigeria our leaders or whoever is in government, believed that meeting force with force would be the solution to problems but they have not realized that, solution to any problem is solved when there is peace.’’ Nigeria at this period needs peace which could be achieved through dialogue, round table discussions, and persuasions. I believe that if we have been approaching issues this way, we would not have crisis all over the country’’
‘’The young elements in the south East I believe are not happy that they have not been considered fit to rule the country since after the civil war. It is like they regard this as the punishment they are paying for going to war which was a normal thing because if the country right from Independence has been run properly, they would not decide that they wanted to go their own way. It was the way their first move for the state of Biafra took that is taken now. People in Nnamdi Kanu’s group did not just wake up to say that they want the Republic of Biafra or Death, it was as a result of the hate speeches and threat to lives from the North that ignited their strong conviction that it was high time they go their own way where they would have a say and there would not be any threat to their existence’’
He argued, further, ‘’to me the Igbos deserve the presidency which for quite sometimes now has been like rotation between the South West and the North. I think after Buhari, they should be allowed to occupy the seat because anything short of that would continue to lead to agitation from them’’
Although he commended the government for the way they have been handling the matter, he, however, warned that they should not allow the soldiers deployed to the East to escalate the crisis as the Bokoharam issue went out of control. ‘’What the government needs now is consultations here and there and with the entire Igbo leaders so that things would be solved amicably.’’
He called on the government to allow the institutions of government to operate without making life unbearable for the people, pointing out that most of the agencies of government operate to add more to the problem of the people. He condemned the way Electricity officials go about to harass the people, disconnect their lights, when the government has said that all houses be giving the prepaid meter. He also called on the government to checkmate the activities of land grabbers and speculators, who have started their operations in Lagos and Ogun State despite the laws prohibiting them from operation and disturbing the peace of the people.
