Cameroon this evening in Libreville, Gabon, won the 2017 edition of the African cup of nations cup final. The Indomitable lions defeated the Egyptian national team by 2-1 in pulsating encounter to claim their fifth African cup title.
Egypt took the lead early in the first half through Arsenal midfielder Elneny but the Cameroonian’s came back powerfully in the second half to score two goal through substitute central defender N’Koulou in the 59th minute and a clinical finish from Vincent Abuobakar in the final minutes decided the match
This may not be a vintage Cameroon side, but Hugo Broos’ side have had the last laugh in Libreville, as they win their fifth AFCON final in front of a very impressive crowd made up of mostly their supporters.
Cameroon host of the 2019 edition of the competition will now defend the trophy on home soil.
