Buhari To Present 2017 Budget To National Assembly Next Week

President Muhammadu Buhari, will on Wednesday, 7th December present the 2017 appropriation bill to a joint session of the National Assembly. Senator Udo Udoma, the Minister of Budget and National Planning made the disclosure at end of the Federal Executive Council meeting on Wednesday. The federal executive council meeting which lasted several hours longer than usual was presided over by Presidet Mohammadu Buhari.

According to Senator Udoma, the 2017 fiscal document, has been well prepared to avoid the inadequacies that characterised  the the 2016 budget.

“The document that we are presenting to the National assembly is a carefully prepared on,” the minister said.

The minister also informed reporters that over 800 billion Naira has so far been released in the 2016 budget as capital projects.

The Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Mr Babatunde Fashola accompanied senator Udoma to the briefing. He announced the council’s approval for the construction of some hydro dams in parts of some states to boost electricity supply which had dropped significantly in recent months.

The projects, according to the Minister, would enhance the quest for incremental energy wherever there is legitimate opportunity as well as the quest for renewable energy through clean hydro energy.
