Buhari resumes, meets with Saraki, Dogara

Chidi Samuel || President Mohammed Buhari on Monday resumed duties in his office and transmitted a letter to the National Assembly to communicate them on same.

Femi Adesina, The President’s special adviser on media and publicity in a statement that: “In compliance with Section 145 of the 1999 Constitution (as amended), the President has formally transmitted letters to the Senate and the House of Representatives, intimating the National Assembly of his resumption.

“I have resumed my functions as the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria with effect from Monday, March 13, 2017, after my vacation.”

As part of his activities for the day, the President met with the leadership of the National Assembly for about forty minutes.

The Senate President, Dr. Saraki who first to spoke to journalists after the meeting said it was a normal consultation designed to brief the President on some of the issues that happened in his absence while The Speaker, Dogara on his part said that meeting was to ensure that there is cooperation between the executive and the legislature for the interest of Nigerians.
