Dangote’s net worth rises to $16.2bn as Forbes releases new list of Billonaires

Arica’s richest man and President, Dangote Group, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, on Thursday saw his net worth increase by $162m to $16.2bn on the day Jeff Bezos, Founder of Amazon, briefly dethroned Microsoft’s Bill Gates to claim the title of the world’s richest person with fortune worth $90.02bn following a surge in the stock market early Thursday Morning.

Also, the net worth of two other Nigerians, the Chairman of Globacom, Dr. Mike Adenuga, rose by $7m to $6.2bn and that of the Founder and Executive Chairman, Famfa Oil Limited, Mrs. Folorunsho Alakija, was unchanged at $1.6bn.

According to Forbes, Even if Bezos didn’t end the day as the richest man, he will likely take the crown from Gates more permanently in the coming days and weeks.
