Decision to reinstate Maina embarrassing – APC

Ebun Francis || Embarrassing and Unbelievable were the two words used by the ruling All Peoples Congress, APC on Tuesday to describe the decision the decision to reintegrate fugitive former chairman of the Presidential Tax Force on Pension Reform, Abdulrasheed Maina.

The on the run former Pencom boss indicted for corruption was recently reabsorbed into the country’s civil service through an unholy initiative between Abubakar Malami, the attorney general of the federation and the minister of Interior, Abdulrahman Dambazau.

President Muhammadu Buhari ordered the dismissal of the indicted fugitive following public outcry over Maina’s reinstatement.

Bolaji Abdullahi, the spokesman of the ruling APC in an interview with newsmen in Abuja said the decision to recall Maina was shocking.

He said, “We are all shocked like any other person. It is almost unbelievable that such a thing can happen.”

“However, we are all delighted that President Muhammadu Buhari has taken very decisive punitive action against those that are involved.

“We are also delighted that he has ordered full scale investigation into the circumstances that led to this individual to be reinstated into the public office.”

The APC spokesman assured that those responsible for Maina’s reinstatement will be dealt with accordingly.
