Mr Samuel Asuquo the suspected kidnapper of the Australian nationals working with Lafarge cement company has been arrested by Department of State Services . This was contained in a statement the agency released on Sunday.
The suspect who was paid a ransom of N150m was arrested by operatives of the service in Nasarawa Bakoko village in Cross River on August 22.
The DSS in the statement also announced the arrest of three suspected members of a notorious kidnap gang on August 30 in Lafia, Nasarawa state. The suspects are Bamayi Mustapha with the alias- Dan Bornu, Aminu Isa and Hassan Shehu.The three suspects and their gang operated around the Abuja-Kaduna axis, adding that they had earlier kidnapped five women and paid N130m as ransom for the release of the victims.
“They were subsequently arrested by the service while planning a high profile kidnap in Abuja, the statement said”
