EFCC: Why we searched Ambode’s Epe home

Ebun Francis|

Officers of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Tuesday morning raided the Epe home of Akinwumi Ambode, the immediate past governor of Lagos State.

The raid may not be unconnected with the anti graft’s probe of the activities of Abode’s tenure of office as governor of Lagos state.

Two weeks ago, it obtained an order from a Lagos high court to block three accounts of the state government associated to close aides of the former governor.

Tony Orilade, the commission’s spokesman, while confirming the raid, said it is part of an ongoing corruption investigation against the former governor.
