Egypt records first case of Coronavirus in Africa

By our reporter| Egypt on Friday became the first African country to record first case of coronavirus as a foreigner was diagnosed with the dread virus.

According to the country’s health officials, the individual whose identity had not been released, had been put in isolation at a hospital in Egypt.

Egyptian health ministry in a statement also said it had taken necessary preventive over the development and equally informed the World Health Organisation.

So far, the virus has been confirmed are Singapore, Japan, UAE, UK, Spain, France, Malaysia, Taiwan, Vietnam, and Germany.

United States, Sweden, Canada, Thailand, Australia, Rusia, Italy, Finland, and Cambodia also have confirmed cases.

The disease which broke out in Wuhan, capital of Hubei province in China, late last year, has killed over 1,300, with over 60,000 persons infected.
