FIFA has overturned the four-match International ban placed on Lionel Messi, the Argentine and Barcelona forward for swearing at the assistant referee in Argentina’s world cup qualifier match.
In a statement on Friday, the world soccer ruling body appeal committee said they don’t have enough evidence to sustain the ban.
“The FIFA Appeal Committee has upheld the appeal lodged by the Argentine Football Association, on behalf of the player Lionel Messi, against the decision taken by the FIFA Disciplinary Committee, lifting the sanctions imposed on him as a result,” a FIFA statement said.
The decision frees the Argentine captain to play in the next match of the world cup qualifiers.
