Floods submerge houses, roads in Ibadan

Tuesday’s heavy downpour in most parts of the South West caused severe havoc in most areas. Buildings, vehicles, motorcycles and household items were among properties swept away yesterday during a six-hour downpour in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.

Though no lives were lost by the time of this report, most parts of the city were submerged and valuables were destroyed by the downpour.

The flooding mostly occurred following the spilling of the Ogunpa River channels long before the rain subsided.
