FRSC recalls sector commander for cutting hair of female officers

Ebun Francis ||  Andrew Kumapayi, the sector commander of the Rivers state Federal Road Safety Corps(FRSC) has been recalled for cutting the hair of female officials during a general inspection on Monday in Port Harcourt.

The female road marshals were reportedly accused of sporting long hairs which prevented their caps from sitting well on their heads.

FRSC’s head of media and strategy, Bisi Kazeem, informed newsmen on Tuesday that Kumapayi and other officers involved in the act had been recalled.

According to Kazeem, ” Kumapayi’s action was outside the mandate of the commission”.

The FRSC official said that the commission will mete out appropriate sanctions to the officers involved after due investigation.

Images of Kumapayi cutting te hair of female road safety officers surfaced on the internet on Monday and attracted mixed reactions from members of the public.
