Gunmen kill 6, abduct 2 in Kaduna village

Not less than six people were killed and one person injured on Saturday when gunmen attacked Udawa village in Chikun local government area of Kaduna state.

According to eyewitness account, the gunmen who invaded the community at about 4am, shot sporadically, killing six people dead in the process.

Kaduna state police spokesman, DSP Yakubu Sabo, while confirming the incident, said the hoodlums apart from attacking the villagers, also rustled some unidentified number of cattle and escaped.

Sabo disclosed in a statement that a team of police operatives have been deployed to the community, for possible arrest of the culprits and recovery of the rustled cattle.
