I am not on vengeance mission, Fayemi assures after picking up Ekiti gov ticket

The former governor of Ekiti state and minister of solid minerals, Kayode Fayemi has won the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primary election in Ekiti.

Fayemi in his acceptance speech assured the people of Ekiti that he is not on a vengeance mission and will learn from past mistakes.

The rescheduled primary election took place at Damlek Event Centre, Ado-Ekiti, the state capital.

Governor Tanko Al- Makura of Nasarawa state and chairman of the committee overseeing the electoral process while announcing Fayemi as the winner of the rescheduled election held on Saturday, confirmed that a total of 2,327 delegates were accredited for the exercise.

According to Al-Makura, the former governor of the state secured the most votes in the rescheduled exercise held on Saturday with a total of 941 votes.

The aspirants who came closest to Fayemi are Segun Oni who secured 481 votes, Kayode Ojo (281), Olufemi Richard Bamisile (179), Oluyede Oluwole (121), and Aluko Daniel Olugbenga (86).

Dr. Fayemi while receiving his certificate of return by Governor Al-Makura thanked his fellow aspirants and delegates for the support given to him.

He pledged to restore good governance back to Ekiti and reclaim it for the good of the people.

The election was disrupted last Saturday by some party agents who alleged that the exercise was fraudulent.
