Our reporter/ The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Thursday announced the extension of the deadline for the collection of permanent voter cards (PVC).
The commission’s national commissioner and chairman, information and voter education, Festus Okoye made the disclosure in a statement obtained by Alabingo.com on Thursday night.
INEC had fixed December 12 to January 22 for the collection of PVCs in all the 774 LGAs.
It also said it would devolve PVC collection to the 8,809 registration areas/wards from January 6 to January 15, 2023, after which the exercise will revert to the LGA offices until January 22 when the process will end.
According to the statement by the commission, as a result of the deadline change, the collection of PVCs from registration areas will now continue till January 22, after which collection at LGAs will continue on January 23.
