Former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan on Saturday said that Segun Adenyi’s account of the events that lead to the defeat of the People’s Democratic Party in the 2015 general elections in Nigeria in his book Against the Run of play is falsified.
Jonathan, the candidate of the PDP in that election has therefore promised to give a more accurate account events in his book which will likely be published soon.
The former President’s position was contained in a series of tweets from his official twitter handle late on Saturday.
Below are his tweets.
(1) I have just read Segun Adeniyi’s new book, ‘Against the Run of Play’ which has so far enjoyed tremendous reviews in the media.
(2) My take on it is that the book as presented contains many distorted claims on the 2015 Presidential election by many of the respondents
(3) There will obviously be more books like that on this subject by concerned Nigerians.
(4) However, I believe that at the right time, the main characters in the elections including myself
(5) will come out with a true account of what transpired either in major interviews or books.
