Following a full house meeting of the Directorate of State on 17th June 2026, the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has taken decisive action to protect the movement, its members, and the Biafran people.
In this statement, the Directorate of State:
Reaffirms that IPOB is a collective Self-Determination movement formed by Biafrans in the Diaspora not the property of any single individual.
Declares any purported dissolution of the Directorate of State as null and void.
Suspends indefinitely the Office of the Leader and the position of Director of Radio Biafra previously held by Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.
Cites serious security concerns, including monitored communications from Sokoto prison leading to arrests and deaths of IPOB members.
Emphasizes commitment to peaceful, non-violent pursuit of Biafran Self-Determination.
This move is aimed at safeguarding IPOB operations, preventing unnecessary violence in Biafraland, and protecting innocent Biafran youths from reckless actions done in the name of the suspended office.
Signed:
Mazi Chikaodibia Edoziem
Head of Directorate of State, IPOB
