The Supreme Court in Abuja this morning affirmed the decision of the court Appeal which yesterday nullified the candidature of Jimoh Ibrahim as the PDP Governorship candidate for the Ondo state Governorship election scheduled for Saturday by striking out the interlocutory appeals filed by Jimoh Ibrahim against Eyitayo Jegede, another factional candidate. A 5-man panel led by acting Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN) Walter Onnoghen struck out the interlocutory appeals after hearing them as insisted by Jimoh Ibrahim’s counsel Barrister Nwofor.
According to the court, ” The decision of the lower court on the substantive matter yesterday,23-11-2016, the decision has rendered the appeal as academic as the appellant has the right to against the said Judgement, including the interlucotory ruling,” the court ruled.
