JUST IN: 36 State governors ask FG to hand over federal roads to states

Ebun Francis || The governors of the 36 states in the country have asked the federal government to give them control over some of the federal government roads in their states.

The request was part of the governor’s demands at the National Economic Council (NEC) meeting presided over by Vice President, Prof Yemi Osinbajo in Abuja on Thursday.

In an interview with newsmen at the end of the meeting, David Umahi, the governor of Ebonyi State said that the governors were concerned that the federal government lacked the capacity to maintain the roads which are in poor states.
