Chidi Samuel || The Lagos State government has placed fresh legal hurdles on the path of notorious billionaire kidnapper, Chukwudumeme Onwuamadike, aka Evans with the filling of fresh charges against the man who terrorised the state over the last three years.
The latest move by the state government comes barely a week after the suspect and five others were re-arraigned on an amended two counts of conspiracy and kidnap of one Duru Donatus.
One of the charges, according to Channels Television has seven counts of conspiracy and the attempted kidnap of the Chairman of “The Young Shall Grow Motors”, Mr. Vincent Amaechi Obianodo.
Of the seven counts, two of the charges are for the murder of the policemen attached to Mr. Obianodo while in another four counts, Evans was alleged to have conspired with some others to kidnap one Sylvanus Hafia.
It was also gathered that both charges are pending before Justice Oloruntoyin Taiwo of the Lagos High Court before whom the suspect would be arraigned on Monday, October 23.
Evans and two other suspects had on Thursday changed their plea to ‘not guilty’.
They had earlier pleaded guilty when they appeared before Justice Hakeem Oshodi of the High Court in Lagos.
