Lawmaker Lauds Gov Emmanuel for Bringing Development To His Constituency

Tony Okoh || The Member representing Ukanafun State Constituency in the State House of Assembly, Hon Otobong Jonathan Akpan, has commended the State Government for its efforts in building critical road infrastructure to boost agriculture and economic diversification in the State.

The lawmaker gave the commendation on Tuesday when he led the State Commissioner for Works; Mr. Ephraim Inyang-Eyen and the Ministry’s engineers around his Constituency, to assess roads that require urgent construction and rehabilitation.

Some of the areas visited were, Ekefe, Ikot Nneke, Ikot Oku Usung and Ikot Akai, Ikot Udo Mbong, amongst others.

The Assemblyman specifically lauded the State governor; Mr. Udom Emmanuel, for allowing his constituents to benefit in the area of road infrastructure.

He regretted that, lack of access roads to evacuate agricultural products had remained a huge setback for agriculture in the area, thereby leading to wastage, while also making farming appears an unprofitable venture for many.

While thanking the governor for finally visiting his Constituency with good news, Hon Otobong Akpan, gave assurance that Ukanafun people will continue to massively support Mr. Udom Emmanuel and his administration, until he completes his full tenure in 2023.

Earlier, the State Commissioner for Works; Mr. Ephraim Inyang-Eyen, said, Governor Udom Emmanuel was committed to spreading developmental projects across the State; open up rural areas and connect them to urban centers.

While soliciting the cooperation and support of Akwa Ibom people to government, the Commissioner assured Ukanafun people that a comprehensive report on roads that require urgent construction in their area will be presented to Governor for immediate action.

Meanwhile, a large crowd of exciting Ukanafun people turned out to welcome the inspection team and took them around the area.
