Liverpool dumped out; PSG, Bayern, Inter, Barcelona into CL quarter-finals

Paris Saint-Germain have knocked top seeds Liverpool out of the Champions League to reach the quarter-finals, 4-1 on penalties.

The feat was achieved thanks to two saves from goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma.

The Italy international saved spot kicks from Darwin Nunez and Curtis Jones. Vitinha, Goncalo Ramos, Ousmane Dembele and Desire Doue converted for PSG, which remain in the hunt for a first title in the elite event.

The last 16 tie was locked at 1-1 after PSG had cancelled out their 1-0 home defeat from last week through Dembele in the 12th minute at Anfield.

Meanwhile, Bayern Munich, Barcelona, and Inter Milan reached the quarter-finals on Tuesday. The other four last 16 return legs are on Wednesday.

Bayern Munich and Inter Milan have joined Barcelona in the Champions League quarter-finals.

Harry Kane scored and set up Alphonso Davies as six-time winners Bayern won 2-0 at Bayer Leverkusen to take the all-German tie 5-0 from both games.

The Bavarians remain on course towards the final in their home stadium.

Bayern next meet Inter, which completed a 4-1 aggregate success over Dutch side Feyenoord with a 2-1 home victory from Marcus Thuram and Hakan Calhanoglu’s penalty.

Barcelona beat Benfica 3-1 on the night and 4-1 on aggregate as 17-year-old Lamine Yamal became the youngest player to score and assist in one Champions League match, while Raphinha got a brace.
