Nigeria confirms 1,056 new cases of #COVID19 with 21 fatalities

Chidi Samuel| Nigeria on Tuesday confirmed 1,056 new cases of #COVID19 with 478 recoveries in Lagos and 21 fatalities recorded across the country.

The Nigeria Centre For Disease Control in an update via its verified Twitter handle said the new infections were recorded in 20 states and the FCT.

According to the NCDC, Lagos, the epicentre of the outbreak reported 214 new cases, followed by Osun-120, FCT-116, Plateau-88, Ebonyi-75, Kwara-73, Gombe-70, Ondo-57, and
Rivers-47.

Other states that reported fresh infections include, Akwa Ibom-38, Edo-25, Oyo-23, Kano-22, Delta-19, Katsina-18, Borno-16, Nasarawa-13, Ekiti-8, Ogun-8, Bauchi-4, Benue-1, and Jigawa-1.

The health agency further noted that so far, Nigeria has 141,447 confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus, with 115,755 recoveries and 1,694 deaths.
