Chidi Samuel| Nigeria on Tuesday confirmed 1368 new cases of the novel coronavirus.
The Nigeria Centre For Disease Control in a statement via its verified Twitter handle said the new infections were recorded in twenty-eight states and the FCT.
According to the update, Anambra state for the first time since the index case was reported in the country in February last year recorded the highest daily number of cases -344, followed by Oyo-172, FCT-148, Benue-107, Rivers-95, Ogun-59, Ondo-56, Ebonyi-53, Kaduna-52, and Plateau-46.
Other states with new infections include, Kwara-36, Enugu-30, Akwa Ibom-26, Osun-22, Edo-20, Abia-17, Kano-16, Borno-15, Cross River-10, Delta-8, Gombe-8, Imo-7, Ekiti-5, Sokoto-4, Jigawa-3, Bayelsa-3, Nasarawa-3, and Zamfara-3.
The NCDC further noted that Nigeria currently has 148, 296 confirmed cases of the highly contagious virus, with 124,483 recoveries, and 1,777 deaths.
